Computer Science is the foundation for computing and is knowing why and how computers work and understanding the language of computers. It’s an essential 21st Century Literacy skill for all learners and is defined as part of a “well-rounded education” in the Every Student Succeeds Act (2015). Visual, block-based programming language will be used for young students and beginners in Computer Science giving students the ability to apply their skills to create projects, stories, games, apps, program robots and more.

The Frameworks’ learning model is progressive, meaning the student’s conceptual meaning and practice of Computer Science becomes more developed over time.
Project/Portfolio-based assessments will be used for Computer Science.
We will be integrating Computer Science into daily instruction and student’s activities in all core areas building on the rich cultural diversity students bring to the classroom.
